“The WHO and United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Noncommunicable Disease UN Task Force are accepting nominations for its 2026 Awards, this year recognizing organizations making measurable strides in preventing and managing chronic respiratory diseases while tackling the harmful health impacts of air pollution – with a strong emphasis on cross-sector collaboration and sustainable policy solutions that integrate health, environment, urban planning, transport, and energy sectors.
Awards will be presented in three categories:
- ministries of health and government health agencies;
- non-health government bodies including city authorities;
- NGO‘s, research institutions, and foundations.
Nominations must come from external individuals (not from within the nominated institution or its board) and should highlight innovative approaches, partnership leadership, resource mobilization, and efforts that address inequities and support marginalized communities.
The deadline is 28 August 2026, with winners announced at the 80th World Health Assembly in May 2027 – submit your nomination form to unncdtaskforce@who.int today.”
