“Whirlwind travel over to Rio de Janeiro to give a few talks at the Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology(SBOC) it is apparently the largest oncology meeting in Latin America!
Not only am I impressed with the size of the congress, but there is also a sizable amount of enthusiasm and interest in The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC)! Made a few important connections in the region.
I also want to thank the warm hospitality from Lucas Okumura and Mario Jorge Sobreira da Silva from the Sobrafo leadership for the wonderful lunch!
This is my third trip to Rio…and I cannot tell you how much I love Brazil: the people, the food (reminds me of Macau), the climate, the beach, and that little bit of edginess makes it so ‘Rio’!! At Christ the Redeemer, I even witnessed a marriage proposal (in front of Christ of course).
So happy for the couple!”
