“What an incredible week it’s been!
I’m truly humbled to receive a Young Investigator Award (YIA) from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), recognizing early career achievements through scientific excellence in cancer immunotherapy. Super thrilled to have been additionally selected as an oral presenter for SITC2025 in National Harbor, where I shared my postdoctoral work focused on developing new in vivo tools to study B cell–mediated mechanisms of response and resistance to immunotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer, with the ultimate goal of enabling the advancement of new and improved treatments.
As early-career scientists we stand on the shoulders of our mentors, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to grow under the guidance of two exceptional women in science. Words can’t describe my gratitude for my postdoctoral mentor Dr. Tina Cascone and my former PhD mentor Prof. Anna Dimberg, you have profoundly shaped my scientific path and this YIA is a testament to your incredible impact on the younger scientific generation!
Last but not least I’d like to say a few words to thank SITC, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, for its unwavering commitment to advancing cancer immunotherapy and supporting young investigators in the field. The travel funds that came with the YIA have been essential during these challenging times for research funding, a support I deeply appreciate. A special shoutout to the Early Career Scientist (ECS) Committee for organizing such an inspiring pre-conference program, filled with mentorship and growth opportunities for early-career researchers.
It’s been truly inspiring to hear from so many luminaries at SITC2025, and to see the progress our community continues to make for cancer patients everywhere. Let’s keep pushing forward for a better future for all families affected by cancer.”
