Associazione Italiana Ematologia Oncologia Pediatrica – AIEOP shared a post on LinkedIn:
“AIEOP…in Lab 7th Edition
The 7th edition of “AIEOP…in Lab” at Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano in Milan brought together clinicians and biologists in pediatric hematology-oncology with the shared goal of strengthening the integration between laboratory research and clinical practice.
At the core of the meeting was a common objective: translating molecular and biological knowledge into more precise, effective, and personalized care for children and adolescents with cancer.
Across both days, the program focused on key themes in pediatric hematology-oncology:
- Cancer predisposition syndromes
Germline alterations, MDS/AML, solid tumors, and long-term surveillance strategies
- Liquid biopsy
Applications in pediatric lymphoma, lung cancer diagnostics, and pan-tumor circulating tumor cell approaches
- Precision medicine: from laboratory to clinical practice
Genomic characterization, targeted therapies, pediatric sarcomas, and experimental treatment pathways
- Preclinical models and tumor microenvironment
Neuroblastoma and acute myeloid leukemia models for personalized and precision medicine research
- Integration of “omics” technologies
Single-cell transcriptomics, chemotherapy resistance in neuroblastoma, and lineage switches in acute leukemias
The scientific program also included many oral presentations and poster sessions. And Day 1 concluded with a Keynote lecture on CNS tumors: “From bench to bedside”, delivered by Maura Massimino, providing a translational overview of pediatric neuro-oncology.
Two days of scientific exchange and innovation dedicated to the continuous evolution of pediatric cancer care.
Special thank you to the Scientific Secretariat: AIEOP Molecular and Cellular Biology Working Group, led by Luca Lo Nigro.
And thank you to all the speakers, participants, and sponsors who contributed to the success of this meeting, with coordination provided by Studio ER Congressi.”
