Eugene A. Woods, Chief Executive Officer at Advocate Health and President and CEO at Atrium Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In health care, the administrative burden has become like a really heavy backpack that clinicians are expected to carry every day – one that’s slowly filled up over the years with forms, clicks, and checkboxes. And it weighs down the joy of practicing medicine.
At Advocate Health, we’ve been asking: What can we take out of that backpack?
With Dr. Scott Rissmiller and Dr. Suzanna Fox leading the way, our team is working to ease that load – so clinicians can focus much more on our patients, and less on mind-numbing paperwork that adds a significant cognitive burden.
And it’s working. Advocate Health has been honored with the 2025 AMA Joy in Medicine Gold recognition.
This is the first time we’ve received the Gold award as a system for all of our Advocate Health physicians – and we are the largest health system to receive this recognition at the highest honor.
From incorporating AI technologies that reduce administrative hassles, to streamlining the onboarding of new physicians, to creating forums where clinician input drives decision-making – we are building a culture to care for those who care for our patients. We call it Best Place to Care. And today, we’re proud to exceed national benchmarks in nearly every category of physician engagement and satisfaction.
Next up, and already underway… bringing our Best Place to Care movement to nursing. Stay tuned.”
