Okay, so I’m authentically excited about this year’s workshop, entitled:

Finding Your Place in Bereavement Care: Aligning Your Skills with the Needs of Grievers through a Public Health Lens

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2025 from 12:30 – 5:00PM EST

What am I so excited about?

The superstar speaker line-up, including keynote speaker Bob Neimeyer and plenary speakers Kathie Supiano, Jillian Blueford and Jamie Eaddy DMin.

An opportunity to reflect on our professional identity, goals, and related training needs using a new self-assessment tool structured around the Public Health Model of Bereavement Care.

An opportunity to directly connect and interact with other attendees and our incredible speakers through breakout sessions.

More details below.

This interactive workshop uses the Public Health Model of Bereavement Care to explore the many ways professionals and community members—including clinicians, educators, researchers, and peer supporters—meet the needs of grieving individuals and communities. Dr. Robert Neimeyer will open with an expanded version of the model’s three levels of care, followed by plenary presentations from Rev. Dr. Jamie Eaddy, Dr. Jillian Blueford, and Dr. Kathie Supiano, illustrating key roles, competencies, and training pathways in bereavement support at each level. Participants will engage in reflective and networking exercises designed to clarify their professional identities, engage with the keynote and plenary speakers, and connect with peers across the continuum of bereavement care.

Thank you to ADEC partners Hospice Foundation of America and The Open to Hope Foundation. We at the Center for the Advancement of Bereavement Care  Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center are proud to serve as a sponsor for this event.”
