“In 2018, the World Health Organization launched the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer with an ambitious goal: to reach at least 60% survival for children with cancer by 2030, while reducing suffering and improving quality of life.
It began with 10 trailblazer countries. Governments stepped up. Priorities were set. Coalitions were built. And action followed – driving real, measurable progress.
Today, that momentum has evolved into a global movement: 87 countries are engaged, 50 have already integrated childhood cancer into their national health strategies, and many more are strengthening access to life-saving medicines and care.
This is what progress looks like when global ambition meets local leadership.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll look at some real examples of what progress looks like on the ground.
Follow ACT 4 Children to see what’s possible when countries choose to act.”
