ACT 4 Children shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When Dr. Dana Ashkenazi Lustig M.D heard the silence in the room, she knew something was missing.
In just two hours, she wrote Bears Get Sick Too to gently explain stem cell transplant in words a child could understand. Illustrated by father-in-law, the story walks children through what happens, why it is needed, and what to expect along the way.
What began as a simple gesture for one patient grew into something powerful – one child asked for it to be read to her every night.
First written in Hebrew, the book is now available in English, Arabic, Russian, Czech, and Spanish. And soon, through ACT4Children, it will also be available as an audiobook so even more families can access it.
