This new editorial from Dr. Benjamin Anderson and Dr. Christopher Li, who also serves as a Section Editor for CANCER, provides expert context on the recent American Cancer Society special report examining lobular breast cancer statistics.
The special report, which published in October, highlights key trends in this understudied subtype. Notably, in 2021 the incidence of invasive lobular carcinoma was 14 per 100,000 women, representing 10.6% of all breast cancer diagnoses.
