From Diagnostics to Clinical Intelligence

Oncology diagnostics companies don’t have a test problem. They have context gaps. They have built remarkably sensitive and specific diagnostic assays. Yet adoption often stalls.

Why?

Because clinical value is not created when a result is generated. It’s created when a clinician knows what to do next, with confidence.

A patient’s NGS report, no matter how elegant, can’t answer:

  •  What does this mean for this patient?
  •  How does it integrate with imaging, labs, comorbidities, and guidelines?
  •  What happened to similar patients over time?

This is why the future of diagnostics is not just better tests. It’s clinical intelligence. Diagnostics companies that invest in data hubs and AI capabilities can move from:

Test results ➝ Clinical insight ➝ Actionable decisions

When diagnostic data is connected to longitudinal outcomes, real-world evidence, and clinical workflows, something changes:

  •  Clinician confidence increases
  •  Skepticism decreases
  •  Adoption scales
  •  Value becomes durable

The real competitive advantage won’t be sensitivity or specificity alone.

It will be the ability to learn from every patient and support every decision.

The question for diagnostics leaders is no longer: “Can we build a great test?”

It’s: “Can we help clinicians practice better medicine?

As a strategic leader, how are you navigating your data to the clinical insights? Do you have a AI & data strategies in place?”
