This Oncology Nurses Month, we proudly recognize an exceptional leader making remarkable strides in cancer care across the Pacific region – Peter Fore, RN.

As the Founder and President of the Papua New Guinea Oncology Nurses’ Association (PaNGONA), Peter Fore has become a driving force in advancing oncology nursing practice, professional development, and patient-centered cancer care in Papua New Guinea.

Through his leadership at Port Moresby General Hospital, he continues to strengthen oncology services by promoting chemotherapy safety, evidence-based practice, and quality patient care. His dedication reflects a deep commitment to improving outcomes for cancer patients and building stronger oncology systems.

Beyond national impact:

  • Peter Fore contributes significantly to regional oncology nursing development through the American Society of Clinical Oncology Asia-Pacific Community of Practice and serves as the Board Secretary of the Pacific Nursing Partnership.

His vision remains clear – to build specialist oncology nursing capacity, strengthen healthcare systems, and improve equitable access to quality cancer care across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.
