“Thank you so much to the members of Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), who voted our president Dr Fatima Cardoso and ABC Global Alliance Board Member Dr Hesham Elghazaly onto the Board of UICC this week.

Fatima campaigned as a voice for people living with advanced cancer, for equal access at every step, and for cancer policy that works. Hesham advocates for equity-oriented cancer control, and brings the valuable perspective of a clinician working in Egypt, adapting global oncology standards and resource-stratified guidelines to LMIC settings.

Together, they are looking forward to their new roles and ensuring the needs of advanced cancer patients are always considered.”
