Aaron Sverdlov, Member Board of Directors at International Cardio-Oncology Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Pleased to share our latest analysis from the REDUCE LAP-HF II programme, now published in JACC.
In patients with HFpEF/HFmrEF, longer duration of heart failure diagnosis was associated with more advanced cardiac remodelling and dysfunction, greater haemodynamic severity, and higher subsequent risk of worsening heart failure events.
These findings reinforce the importance of earlier recognition and treatment of HFpEF/HFmrEF, before more advanced structural and haemodynamic changes become established.
This paper adds another piece to the broader REDUCE LAP-HF II body of work, which began with the primary sham-controlled trial published in The Lancet in 2022 and has since generated several important analyses exploring exercise haemodynamics, obesity, longer-term outcomes, and potential responder phenotypes.
It has been a real privilege to contribute to this sustained international collaboration. Congratulations to Shunichi Doi, Barry Borlaug, Sanjiv Shah and the whole REDUCE LAP-HF II investigator group.”
