Aaron Sverdlov: Key Themes That Make Cardio-Oncology Rapidly Evolving Field

Aaron Sverdlov, Professor & Director of Heart Failure at University of Newcastle, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Not long to go now until the ESC Cardio-Oncology 2026 Conference in Vienna this June!

The programme brings together many of the key themes that make cardio-oncology such an important and rapidly evolving field: prevention, risk stratification, imaging, cardiometabolic health, survivorship, global equity, implementation, and the practical challenge of delivering care for people affected by cancer and cardiovascular disease.

I’m honoured to be contributing to the meeting this year: speaking in the joint European Society of Cardiology/International Cardio-Oncology Society session on “Cardio-oncology worldwide – bridging gaps, breaking barriers,” and co-chairing sessions on “Stratifying the risk of cardiotoxicity” and “Cardiometabolic medicine and cancer.”

Huge credit to the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology, the organising committee, session chairs, faculty, and abstract presenters for putting together such a strong scientific programme.

For anyone involved in the care of people with cancer before, during, or after treatment, this looks like a meeting well worth attending.

Looking forward to seeing friends, colleagues, and new collaborators in Vienna.”
