SRS vs hippocampal-avoidant WBRT + memantine – the key finding was striking:
Median overall survival
- SRS: 17 months
- HA-WBRT: 9 months
And importantly:
- No significant difference in time to cognitive failure
- No significant difference in neurologic death
- SRS had fewer grade ≥3 adverse events
For selected patients with SCLC brain metastases, this trial adds important evidence supporting SRS as a standard treatment option.
