Why the U.S. Risks Falling Behind in Clinical Trial Activation Speed – AACI

AACI (Association of American Cancer Institutes) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Clinical trial activation delays cost time, money, and—most critically—patient access to lifesaving treatments.

In the July AACI Commentary, Drs. Diane M. Simeone and Thomas George, co-chairs of the AACI Accelerating Clinical Trials (ACT) Steering Committee, outline why the U.S. risks falling behind global competitors on trial activation speed and highlight how the ACT Steering Committee aims to reduce barriers to timely clinical trial activation through protocol development, start-up and operational efficiencies, regulatory alignment, and stakeholder support.

The ACT Steering Committee is tasked with developing scalable, national solutions, with recommendations to be shared this October at the 2026 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting in Chicago.”
