“Congratulations to Sylvester’s 2026 K12 Calabresi Scholars, three physician-scientists whose research is helping shape the future of cancer care through innovative clinical trials and translational research.

Selected for Sylvester’s prestigious National Cancer Institute-funded K12 Career Development Program, Drs. Austin Dosch, Isabella Ferando and Gil Hevroni will receive dedicated mentorship, research support and clinical trial training as they advance projects focused on some of cancer care’s most pressing challenges.

  •  Dr. Austin Dosch is developing new approaches for colorectal cancer that has spread to the abdominal lining, with a focus on personalizing treatment and improving outcomes.
  •  Dr. Isabella Ferando is investigating the biology behind “chemo brain” and exploring ways to identify and prevent treatment-related cognitive decline.
  •  Dr. Gil Hevroni is integrating wearable technologies and digital biomarkers into multiple myeloma clinical trials to better understand treatment response and disease progression.
