Laura Ellenhorn: Perspective and Humanity in Washington Conversations

Laura Ellenhorn, Principal – Head of Community Impact at Edward Jones, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“One of the most valuable parts of being in Washington this week has been the combination of perspective and humanity.

Sunrise walks on the Mall with colleagues. Conversations at the Capitol with elected officials. Honest dialogue with leaders across sectors about the forces shaping America – politically, economically, and socially.

Amid full days centered on ideas and policy, the American Cancer Society Fit to Be Cancer Free Step Challenge provides an important reminder: progress is ultimately about people.

Joining CEOs and corporate leaders across the country in this effort reinforced that leadership is not only about driving outcomes. It is also about modeling wellbeing, resilience, and care for the communities we serve.

Sometimes the best thinking happens while walking between meetings, watching the sunrise, and creating space to reflect on both the responsibility and privilege of leadership.”
