Farina Arreguin: When Medical Education Becomes Patient Impact in NF1 Care

Farina Arreguin, Head of the Pediatric Oncology Service at CMN, “20 de Noviembre,” ISSSTE, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Sharing knowledge and medical experience allows us to transform realities.

I had the privilege of visiting Honduras to participate in an academic conference focused on strengthening medical training in the early diagnosis and multidisciplinary approach of children and adolescents with Neurofibromatosis type 1.

During this visit, we managed to bring together 383 doctors, generating spaces for scientific updating, exchange of experiences and clinical reflection to improve the comprehensive care of patients with NF1.

These meetings allowed the sharing of current tools for clinical recognition, timely referral, follow-up and multidisciplinary management, also promoting collaboration between different specialties.

We continue to build bridges of knowledge in Latin America, convinced that continuing medical education has a direct impact on the lives of our patients and their families.”
