Ashaya Jaglal: Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology

Ashaya Jaglal, PhD candidate Radiation Oncology at Amsterdam UMC, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share that my first research paper has been published in PhiRO – Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology!

Our newly published study describes the implementation of a novel one-visit palliative radiotherapy pathway using an online adaptive workflow without the use of a planning CT scan, and without any diagnostic CT input. Instead, our approach used a phantom-based pre-treatment workflow which enabled a true CT-free implementation.

Our key message is that accelerated delivery of palliative IMRT delivery is feasible without compromising plan quality, making same-day consultation and treatment a clinical reality, particularly for emergency procedures and routine palliation.”
