“The Unsung Heroes of Mission 2027 Part 3
Community health workers leading Rwanda’s fight against cervical
cancer and breast cancer
Here is a skit made by community health workers and some local citizens at Inteko y’abaturage(assemblies of citizens )addressing common
myths around cervical cancer screening and aims to reassure the community and
encourage them to participate.
Across Rwanda CHWs form the heartbeat of the nation’s health system. hey serve as a bridge connecting policy to the people ,hospitals to homes and science to trust.
They mobilize women for HPV and VIA screening alongside with breast cancer across their villages and make sure no one misses out ,they help those who test positive to reach their health centers and receive treatments , they don’t just stop there, they follow up to ensure that those women return for re-screening when needed.”
