Raja-Elie Abdulnour, Editor, Clinical Development and AI Innovation at NEJM Group, shared a post on X:
“We’re launching something new at NEJM: an AI companion (beta) that lives alongside our articles to help you explore and understand the research. The companion draws only from the article itself—no external sources.
Ask it to clarify methods, explore implications, or help you think through how findings might apply to your practice. But again; as long as the article itself addresses these topics. We’re in learning mode. This is early, imperfect, and intentionally limited. And like I always say; AI is wrong until proven otherwise.
So, think about the task it is helping you with and decide how much effort you need to fact-check it. Try it. Test it. Break it if you can. Then tell us what you think. Your feedback will shape how we expand this across NEJM publications.”
