“Advancing Early Detection Through Awareness and Policy
Honored to have been part of the Scientific Planning Committee and to serve as a speaker at the Multidisciplinary Strategies for Cancer Awareness Seminar organized by Al-Ahli Hospital in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society.
My talk, ‘Qatar’s National Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines: Advancing Early Detection Through Awareness and Policy,’ highlighted how evidence-based guidelines, community engagement, and cross-sector collaboration can strengthen early detection programs and reduce the burden of cancer across Qatar.
This seminar—accredited by the Ministry of Public Health (DHP)—brought together healthcare professionals from surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, nursing, nutrition, and public health to discuss strategies for:
- Improving screening uptake and referral pathways
- Enhancing health literacy and patient education
- Integrating advocacy, prevention, and person-centered care into daily clinical practice
The theme ‘Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters’ reminds us that advancing cancer awareness is not just a policy goal—it’s a human commitment.
Grateful to the outstanding planning committee and all fellow speakers for the enriching exchange of knowledge and the shared vision of making early detection accessible to all. Together, we move closer to a future where awareness, policy, and compassion unite for better cancer outcomes.”
