“Proud to present the iNTERVENE Project at the 2025 Chinese Congress on Holistic Integrative Oncology in Kunming, China!
Presentation title: Health and Digital Literacy as Key Determinants of Digital Health Transformation: Insights from the iNTERVENE Project
During my talk, I shared the project’s profile — its aims, objectives, and the methodology driving its implementation — and highlighted some early insights that are shaping our understanding of digital health transformation:
- Inclusive design matters: The iNTERVENE Project focuses on vulnerable and digitally excluded groups, using accessible formats such as easy-to-read leaflets and scenario-based learning.
- Digital delivery requires skills: Providing digital tools is not enough — people need digital literacy to use them effectively.
Health literacy drives uptake: Evidence shows that interventions improving digital health literacy enhance eHealth literacy and self-management in chronic disease care. - Transformation goes beyond technology: As highlighted by the Council of Europe’s guide on health literacy, digital health services must be inclusive, intuitive, and supported by training and user assistance to ensure no one is left behind.
- Health system readiness is key: Effective digital health implementation depends on infrastructure, policies, workforce training, and user support. It’s not just about launching an app — it’s about building an enabling ecosystem.
Grateful for the opportunity to share our work and exchange perspectives with global experts dedicated to equitable and inclusive digital health transformation.”
