Partha Basu: Shared Challenges, Diverse Solutions – The Power of Global Cancer Control

Partha Basu, Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at IARC/WHO (International Agency for Research on Cancer/World Health Organization), shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It is always inspiring to interact with cancer control program leaders and learn from their diverse experiences. Despite the heterogeneity of health systems, many of the barriers remain similar — and it is impressive to see how different countries have successfully overcome these challenges.

CanScreen5 project of IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization in collaboration with National Cancer Center, Tokyo is holding a training workshop attended by 21 cancer control leaders from 12 East Asian countries.
To date, 125 countries have participated in this flagship IARC project, and 1,624 trainees from 184 countries have completed the CanScreen5 courses — a truly global impact!

Delighted to be at NCC, Tokyo with colleagues Prof. Jean-Marie Dangou, Eric Lucas, Mary Luz RoL, Sathishrajaa Palaniraja, Sarra Ezzemni and Lobna Boulegroun. Thank you Dr. Hiroyuki Mano, President, NCC and Dr. Tomohiro Matsuda, Chief, Division of Int Health & Policy Research, NCC for the generous support and collaboration.”
