Florence Broussais – Guillaumot, Hematologist at Hôpital Lyon-Sud – Hospices Civils de Lyon, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Eighteen months ago, Women in Lymphoma was reflecting on how to move beyond WiLing Wednesdays and design a focused mentorship program. At the same time, a simple like from Dan Tovar on a post by Tony Li about CAR-T access in Asia sparked a chain of connections. Soon after, Michelle Poon and I met Tony at EHA 2024 in Madrid – and with the enthusiasm of Anna Sureda Balari, we drafted the very first version of the WiL Academy.
The WiL Academy is designed to provide hands-on training opportunities for women clinicians in lymphoma – starting with an international CAR-T internship in Singapore. The goal: to empower female hematologists/oncologists from Southeast Asia with expertise in CAR-T cell indications and treatment.
From Virginie Faucheur and the EURÊKA Foundation’s trust, to Joanna Lotocka ’s perseverance, NUHS Singapore’s approval, APBMT Blood and Marrow Transplantation ’s support, and an unrestricted educational grant from Gilead Sciences – step by step, the project took shape.
Today, we are proud to launch the WiL Academy CAR-T Internship. This is just the first step, but it shows that with « WiL » and with « will », we are truly borderless.
For me, WiL is more than a network. It is conviction, shared purpose, and proof that when passionate people come together, opportunities grow for all. That is why WiL means so much to me.
Please help us disseminate this Request for Applications. Share it with your colleagues in Southeast Asia – the more we spread the word, the stronger the impact of the Academy will be.”
