Manoj Reddy: The Role of Microbiome in Cancer Care

Manoj Reddy, Founder and President at Integrative Oncology Working Group, shared on LinkedIn:

“The microbiome is rewriting how we think about cancer.

From risk to prognosis, from gastric cancer prevention to the response to immunotherapy – our gut partners may be just as important as the drugs we use.

At the Integrative Oncology Working Group (IOWG), we’ve hosted two prior Grand Rounds sessions with leading experts on the microbiome–cancer connection. I’d like keep expanding this conversation through the LinkedIn community.

I’ve just published a comprehensive synthesis article on the Microbiome and Cancer:

  • Reviews the strongest evidence (gastric and colorectal cancer)
  •  Highlights emerging links across pancreas, breast, liver, prostate, brain, and more
  •  Summarizes interactions with immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy
  •  Discusses integrative strategies – nutrition, exercise, vitamin D, sleep – that support the microbiome during care
  •  Outlines testing, safety guardrails, and where the field is headed

I’d love to hear your thoughts –

  • Does the microbiome factor into your oncology practice or research?
  • Where do you see the next breakthrough coming?

Would appreciate your comments, thoughts, and expertise.
