“The Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Porto (IPO-Porto) hosted the third and final consultancy visit (“Deep Dive”) from a team of European experts, as part of the CCI4EU project – Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union, funded by the European Union and led by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI).
These visits aim to evaluate the processes and best practices of the entities involved in the creation of a Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructure (CCI) in Northern Portugal, aiming to strengthen the European network of centers of excellence in oncology and promote improvements in the provision of cancer care.
The meeting was attended by partners of the collaborative network, including: IPO Porto, Unidade Local de Saúde Alto Ave , ULS Braga , Unidade Local de Saúde Gaia e Espinho , Liga Portuguesa Contra O Cancro – Núcleo Regional do Norte (Portuguese League Against Cancer – Northern Regional Unit), and i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health.”
Dr. Dégi László Csaba, President of the European Cancer Organisation, shared a post by Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (IPO-Porto), adding:
