Shikha Jain Kumar: My clinics remind me of what truly matters in life

“As an oncologist, my clinics remind me of what truly matters in life. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, the deadlines, and the endless to-do lists. But each patient I meet teaches me invaluable lessons about resilience, hope, and the power of human connection.
When I see the strength and determination in my patients’ eyes, I am reminded that life is about more than just the daily grind. It’s about cherishing the moments with loved ones, being present, and finding joy in the little things. It’s about supporting each other through the toughest times and celebrating the victories, no matter how small.
My patients inspire me to prioritize what’s truly important: health, family, and making a positive impact on the world. They show me that even in the face of adversity, we can find strength within ourselves and in each other.
Every day, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their lives, to offer support and care, and to learn from their incredible courage. Let’s all take a moment to reflect on what matters most and hold those things close to our hearts.”
