The American Cancer Society (ACS), founded in 1913, is a nationwide non-profit organization committed to fighting against cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. It is structured into six geographical regions with both medical and lay volunteers, operating out of more than 250 regional offices across the United States. The ACS publishes several journals, including Cancer, CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, and Cancer Cytopathology.
