Jemma Arakelyan: ASCO24 is over… the drivers will get happier very soon

Jemma Arakelyan shared on LinkedIn:

“ASCO starts with Daily News…

Oncologists from all over the world are in Chicago… and they are all in a rush!

ASCO’s annual meeting program has 200 pages. The attendees have highlighted what is important for them, and are rushing to the session rooms.

ASCO is about hope. Cancer survivors and advocates are here.

It’s about the love and passion towards oncology. So 45,000 humans touched by cancer somehow are here!

It’s about catching up with friends and escaping from their daily grind for a while. Practitioners have asked younger colleagues to take care of their patients while they are away.

ASCO has brought together role models and field stars. There are young, confused oncologists who are in a stupor, as it’s their first time. They look around, faced with all the options they have to come up with a clear plan.

ASCO exhibition is about niceties too, where companies are competing with coffee and snacks.

ASCO is also about angry cab drivers, as the meeting has blocked traffic. It’s about busy people who booked their flights and hotels a year ago.

ASCO2024 is over… the drivers will get happier very soon…”
