Nirmala Bhoo Pathy: I had the opportunity to facilitate an exciting workshop with Novartis through University of Malaya
Nirmala Bhoo Pathy shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Working with pharma?
It’s true that many colleagues, especially in public health, often hesitate to collaborate openly with private industries due to concerns about conflicts of interest and maintaining scientific integrity.
However, the potential for mutual learning and innovation is immense.
I recently had the opportunity to facilitate an exciting workshop with Novartis through University of Malaya, diving deep into the world of clinical research and medical affairs.
This experience reaffirmed that when done right, ethical collaboration between academia and pharma can drive groundbreaking research and lead to innovative solutions.
By declaring conflicts of interest upfront, adhering to strict ethical standards, and maintaining clear, transparent communication, we can ensure these partnerships are both productive and principled.
Thanks to Balraj Sethi for the invitation. Let’s embrace the potential of working together while staying true to our values.”
