Megan Scherer advocated at her first American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Day at the Ohio Statehouse
Megan Scherer, Co-founder and Executive Director at Worth the Wait Charity shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week, I advocated at my first American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Day at the Ohio Statehouse. It was quite an experience learning about the house bills, collecting patient stories, and meeting with a state representative and state senator.
I collaborated with passionate advocates, including Mike Scherer, Diane Crawford, Whitney Inkrott, and Lory Winland. All of whom have unique experiences and perspectives with cancer. We asked for House and Senate support for HB 24 (equitable access for biomarker testing for cancer patients) and HB 177 (health plan copay accumulators related to patient drug assistance programs).
Hopefully, the efforts of many will help make cancer care more affordable in Ohio and increase insurance coverage for precision oncology care.”
