A new drug for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia – Manchester Cancer Research Centre
Emma Searle, Consultant Haematologist at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, recently shared a post by Manchester Cancer Research Centre on X, adding:
“Our patients give up so much time (and risk side effects) to help us learn about new potential treatments in this sort of experimental clinical trial. It is wonderful when that results in a great clinical response, and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer chap.”

“In the news today.
A new breakthrough drug for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is now being trialled at the Christie NHS and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Clinical Research Facility. NX-5948 is part of a new class of treatments called ‘degraders’.”
