Christian Ntizimira: Pause momentarily and imagine a world where healthcare isn’t a privilege but a right for all.
As Christian Ntizimira, founder and Executive Director of ACREOL and an International member of the Faculty of The Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education (PalC), stated on Linkedin:
“Pause momentarily and imagine a world where healthcare isn’t a privilege but a right for all, regardless of their economic backgrounds. Today, we are celebrating a milestone in the Gicumbi district, thanks to the outstanding accomplishment of training in palliative care in Byumba Hospital, Health centers, and Community Health Workers (CHWs).
These teams have been tirelessly trained to support women diagnosed with advanced Cervical Cancer. A disease that has silently claimed the lives of countless women. Today, we celebrate this milestone, for it’s a significant step towards guaranteeing every woman, mother, sister, wife, and daughter in the Gicumbi district the right to quality of life despite the prognosis.
The battles are far from over, but with every trained health professional, we are a step closer to winning the war against Cervical Cancer.”
