“What a day! I got to represent American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) at the Patient Quality of Life Coalition Lobby Day in Washington, DC with this crew of incredible cancer advocates.
We met with Senators to share why they need to take action on the Palliative Care Hospice and Education Training Act (PCHETA). PCHETA would help advance palliative care education, awareness, and research and improve quality of life for so many patients.
I also got to talk about my late mom, and her lack of palliative care, especially as a cancer patient in rural Minnesota. Despite how much I miss her, it’s always a good day getting to do this work in her memory.”
