Monday was my last day (officially) at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), from which I have now retired. Many thanks to all involved in the Section on Evidence Synthesis and Classification, the wider IARC community, and the 2,000+ individual experts who made the last six years in Lyon so special. Putting together the 5th edition of the WHO Classification was certainly the pinnacle of my career and a great way to finish. Congratulations to Dr Dilani Lokuhetty for taking on the role – I am sure that the 6th edition will be even better! I am going to do some consultancy work through my company, CanTech Ltd, and to continue my interests in various research projects, in an honorary capacity, and hopefully not full-time!
