Huge room for improvement to be made in equitable access to proven current and new treatments for all – Sarah Tregenza

Great first day at the Medical Oncology Group of Australia 2023 ASM with the Pierre Fabre Medical Care Australia Medical Affairs team.

Particularly enjoyed A/Prof Bishal Gyawali’s Keynote Address on Equity in Cancer Care.

“Society invests billions of dollars in the development of new drugs and technologies but comparatively little in the fidelity of healthcare, that is, improving systems to ensure the delivery to all patients in need.” Woolf and Johnson. Ann Fam Med, 2005.

We still need treatments and new advances to improve on current treatments, but huge room for improvement to be made in equitable access to proven current and new treatments for all.
