Marianne Sarcich: Would you like to be in a free program that uses art to tell your cancer story?
Marianne Sarcich, Founder of the breast cancer peer support group “In This Together”, shared on LinkedIn:
“Where are my friends touched by cancer? What about my artistic friends? This is for you…..
Would you like to be in a free program that uses art to tell your cancer story? Or would you like to be an artist who tells a cancer patient/ survivor story? Then this is for you. And spots are limited so you’ve got to jump on it.
Brushes with Cancer, a Villanova-based national program for the cancer community, is about healing by giving voice to the patient and their perspective through art. And the program is coming back to Philadelphia and looking for people like you. After being matched with an artist, you work together for 3 months. And the program culminates in an exhibit with an incredible launch party. All of the art is then auctioned off to fund the next program in a different city.
There are two types of applicants they are looking for. One is a cancer patient/ survivor. They call them inspirations. To apply for that. Here is the link.
The other is an artist who works in any medium or any type of art. Poetry, photography, sculpting. You name it. If you would like to be an artist for this program, here is the link.

By the way, I participated in the first Philadelphia program as an inspiration. It was a tremendously healing experience for me. And I cannot recommend it enough. You can read about my story with this program here.”
