Omar AbdiHamid: Allow me to reintroduce myself – a clinical oncologist from Kenya
Omar AbdiHamid, Clinical Oncology Specialist at HCGCCK Cancer Centre, recently posted on LinkedIn:
“Hello 4K+ Linkedin family,
Allow me to reintroduce myself and thank you all for sticking around.
I am a Clinical oncologist from Kenya, working at the Garissa Cancer Center, the first in 60 years and HCGCCK CANCER CENTRE in Nairobi. My interest is in global oncology and research on cancer care disparities and opportunities for improvement in low and middle-income countries. I am also a published cancer researcher. and continue to seek opportunities in collaborative research under many mentors, notably my dear friend and colleague Prof Nazik Hammad who is a key opinion leader in global oncology in driving the agenda for cancer care in Africa by Africans under the themes of ‘Climate change and Cancer care’, ‘Cancer care and conflicts’ and ways of improving cancer care among hard-to-reach communities such as the nomadic and pastoralists communities in Africa, especially East-Africa which we recently did some work together.
I look forward to a year-long networking, learning, and collaboration in thematic areas of global oncology, cancer education, cancer research on outcomes that matter to patients and their families, and digital health.”
