Elizabeth Ugwoma Awo-Ejeh: Grateful to Have Been Selected as One of the Dicey Scroggins Patient Advocacy Fellows
Elizabeth Ugwoma Awo-Ejeh, Breast Cancer Survivor and Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m grateful to have been selected as one of the participants in the recently concluded Dicey Scroggins Patient Advocacy Fellowship, held in Abuja on July 25th and 26th, 2025.
This wasn’t just another training—it was a life-changing experience. Over two days, survivors, advocates, and experts came together to share stories, strategies, and hope. It reminded me that I’m not just surviving cancer, I’m living—and leading change. From learning the power of advocacy in transforming cancer care systems to hearing deeply moving stories of pain turned into purpose, this fellowship reignited my passion to use my journey to inspire, educate, and empower others in my community and beyond.
One powerful takeaway:
“We can never kick advocacy away from cancer care.” — Runcie C.W. Chidebe
“Many people die not from the disease, but from the stigma.” — Karen Nakawala
I’m committed to turning my pain into purpose—raising awareness, fighting stigma, and being a voice for those who feel unseen. I will continue to speak up for the underserved, shine light in the dark corners where silence and shame have silenced too many, and use every platform I have to amplify the voices of survivors and patients.
My story is not just mine…it’s a vessel of healing, courage, and faith for others walking the same road. Through storytelling, advocacy, and action, I am building a bridge between pain and progress.
Thank you Project PINK BLUE for organizing such a powerful fellowship, and to every speaker who poured out wisdom, truth, and passion.
Your voices lit a fire in us and reminded us that advocacy is not a moment, but a movement.
I celebrate each of you for the work you do and the lives you continue to impact. The mission continues. We rise, we speak, we advocate.”
Runcie C.W. Chidebe, Executive Director of Project PINK BLUE, shared a post by Elizabeth Ugwoma Awo-Ejeh, adding:
“Congratulations Elizabeth Awo-Ejeh on your selection as one of the Dicey Scroggins Patient Advocacy Fellows.
Dicey ‘is’ a super advocate for all patients in Africa, US and around the world. Thanks being a valued voice for yourself and other patients. Your voice is your power to bring change to our community.”
