Anirban Maitra: The interplay between intratumoral microbiome and T cells
Anirban Maitra, Scientific Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared on X:
“New paper in Cell Reports Medicine from Beatty Lab, Abramson Cancer Center.
Multimodal immune phenotyping reveals microbial-T cell interactions that shape Pancreatic Cancer.
This paper studies the interplay between intratumoral microbiome and T cells (which occurs independently of the gut microbiome) and how microbial composition and diversity sculpts the heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer.
We know that cellular neighborhoods exist in Pancreatic Cancer. This study layers on the role of the intratumoral microbiome in driving this tumor microenvironment heterogeneity.”
