Bar Levy: New ESGO-ESTRO-ESP Guidelines for Endometrial Cancer
Bar Levy, Founder and CEO of HaBait Shel Bar – Israel’s Women’s Cancer Association (RA), shared a post on LinkedIn by ESGO, about a paper she co-authored with colleagues published in The Lancet Oncology:
“New ESGO-ESTRO-ESP Guidelines for Endometrial Cancer – Now Published in The Lancet.
The new clinical guidelines for the management of endometrial cancer have just been published in The Lancet Oncology – and for the first time, they include a perspective that has long been missing: the patient voice.
I’m honored to have been part of this historic process – the first time a patient advocate was formally embedded in the working group alongside leading clinicians, researchers, and global experts. I learnt so much from the process and I am grateful for that.
As an ESGO ENGAGe network representative and after consulting with the EC patients community of HaBait Shel Bar – Israel’s Women’s Cancer Association (RA) Shel Bar, we introduced:
- A dedicated ‘Survivorship’ section
- Recommendations on quality of life, patient education, psycho-oncology, and access to advocacy
- Adjusted language to reflect dignity, accuracy, and emotional impact
This is what it looks like when inclusion becomes integration.
I invite everyone in the gynecologic oncology community – and in the global patient advocacy movement – to read, share, and implement.”
Quoting European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO)’s post:
“Just published in The Lancet! ESGO-ESTRO-ESP Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Endometrial Carcinoma: 2025 Update.
These guidelines are an update from the prior guidelines published in 2021 and cover all relevant aspects of diagnosis, management, follow-up, and patient education.
They consider the large body of new evidence in this field and incorporate the 2023 FIGO update, which reflects the improved understanding of the complex nature of the different types of endometrial carcinoma and their underlying biological behaviour.
Read our press release about this important update.
Watch our series of webinars about this update.”
