Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence Joins Global Colon Cancer Association

“Please welcome our newest member, BUTARO HOSPITAL, Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence (BCCOE). The Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence (BCCOE) is a specialized cancer treatment facility located in a rural area of Rwanda, more than 100 km from the capital city, Kigali. As the country’s first comprehensive cancer centre, BCCOE provides advanced care for patients with colorectal cancer and other malignancies, serving the entire Rwandan population and neighbouring regions.
The center offers multidisciplinary treatment, including chemotherapy, surgery, and palliative care, with a strong emphasis on early detection and patient education. In addition to clinical services, BCCOE engages in cancer research and capacity-building initiatives, working with international partners to improve colorectal cancer outcomes in low-resource settings.
