Survivor Cindy Pursues Nursing in Ghana Fifteen Years After Kidney Cancer Diagnosis – World Child Cancer
World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Cindy was diagnosed with kidney cancer at just two years old. Treatment began early, and she returned to school at three. But her journey with cancer never fully left the picture, it shaped her direction in life.
Now a first-year nursing student at the University of Ghana, Cindy is pursuing a career that directly connects to her experience.
‘It’s been fifteen years since my treatment, and I am still here and strong. You can also get well and pursue your dreams.’ – Cindy
Support from the Courageous Futures Scholarship has helped her manage school fees, hostel bills, and living costs, making space for her to focus on what matters most: studying to care for others.
