Karima Oualla, MD, MSc is a Professor of Medical Oncology at the Hassan II University Hospital in Morocco. She is a member of the OncoDaily Editorial Board. She completed her medical studies and training at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Fes, Morocco, also got an academic degree in Epidemiology and Clinical Research from the same university before joining Institute Jules Bordet in Brussels, Belgium where she worked in 2012-2013 as assistant doctor in Medical Oncology. She holds a certificate of specialization in Medical Oncology from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and also successfully completed 3 years of «Postgraduate Course Medical Oncology, National Belgian Program» for Inter-University Faculty under the direction of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). She was designated by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) for a fellowship in Onco-Urology department at “Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori” Milano, Italy and passed successfully the ESMO examination in 2014. In 2015, she was admitted into the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Training programme funded by the NIH Fogarty and the Moffitt Cancer Center (USA) and was enrolled in the department of public health in the University of South Florida (USF) Tampa, between 2015-2016. Furthermore, she was selected by ESMO for a fellowship in palliative care in Leon Bérard Cancer Center in Lyon, France in 2019. From 2018 – 2020 she has been enrolled in the MSc Program in Advanced Oncology at the University of Ulm in Germany. She is an active member of ESMO, ASCO, ESO and the Moroccan Society of Cancerology (SMC).
