Nikki Audia: Bladder Cancer Awareness Month is Here, and It’s Time to Get Loud
Nikki Audia, Cancer Awareness Advocate, posted on LinkedIn:
“If you saw blood in your urine… would you ignore it?
Too many do. Too many are told “it’s just a UTI.” Too many find out too late—it’s bladder cancer.
This isn’t a rare disease. It’s one of the most common cancers in the U.S.—yet no one’s talking about it.
Bladder Cancer Awareness Month is here, and it’s time to get loud:
• Blood in the urine is NOT normal.
• Persistent UTIs? Get checked.
• Unexplained back pain, urgency, or pelvic discomfort? Don’t wait.
Bladder cancer kills. But when caught early, it’s treatable. The problem? People aren’t looking. And providers aren’t always listening.
This month, I’m using my voice to raise awareness, spark conversations, and help end the silence around this overlooked disease.
Because bladder cancer isn’t just “an older man’s disease.” It affects women. It affects young adults. It could affect you.
Let’s talk about it. Let’s save lives.”
