The White House – President Trump’s “Most Important and Impactful” Truth Ever Issued

The White House shared a post on X:

“JUST IN: PRESIDENT TRUMP’S “MOST IMPORTANT AND IMPACTFUL” TRUTH EVER ISSUED.
“I am pleased to announce that Tomorrow morning, in the White House, at 9:00 A.M., I will be signing one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history….””

President Donald Trump held a press conference where he was joined by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to sign a new executive order targeting high prescription drug prices. The order introduces a “Most Favored Nation” policy, which Trump said would require that the United States pay no more for prescription medications than the country that pays the lowest price globally.

During the announcement, Trump emphasized the significance of the move, calling it “one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history.” He explained that the policy is designed to end what he described as decades of unfair pricing practices and to ensure American citizens receive medications at significantly lower costs.

“Our Country will finally be treated fairly, and our citizens’ Healthcare Costs will be reduced by numbers never even thought of before.”– He declared in a post on Truth Social.

The main focus of the Order is to bring down the prices Americans pay for prescription drugs by aligning them with prices paid by similar nations. This includes taking action against foreign countries that engage in practices that unfairly drive up drug prices in the U.S. The Order directs U.S. officials, such as the U.S. Trade Representative and Secretary of Commerce, to ensure that foreign nations do not undercut market prices, which in turn forces Americans to pay higher costs.

“POTUS’s Friend: “I’m in London, and I just paid for this damn fat drug. I just paid $88. And in NY, I pay $1300.”
POTUS: “I brought it up with the drug companies… they’ve been justifying this crap for years. They said, ‘Oh, it’s R&D.’ Other countries should pay R&D too.” – The White House shared on their X page.

The Order’s “Most-Favored-Nation” pricing model allows American patients to buy drugs directly from manufacturers at the same price that other nations pay, ensuring that the U.S. receives the best possible deal. This could bypass middlemen and ensure that the U.S., as the largest global purchaser of prescription drugs, secures the best possible deal.

If drug manufacturers do not comply with these pricing requirements, the Secretary of Health and Human Services is instructed to propose rules to enforce this pricing model and take other measures to reduce prescription drug costs in the U.S. The initiative aims to eliminate anticompetitive practices that lead to Americans shouldering a disproportionate share of global pharmaceutical costs, essentially subsidizing drug prices in other countries while the U.S. bears the brunt of research and healthcare spending.
