“In partnership with the Mothers’ Union and Women’s Guild, we at Medicaid Cancer Foundation recently held a powerful outreach at the Basilica of Grace Church, Gudu – focused on empowering women with life-saving knowledge about breast and cervical cancer.
Highlights from the day:
- Dr. Rukkaya simplified the conversation around cervical cancer – its causes, prevention, and the critical importance of early detection.
- Nurse Amelia led an energetic session, guiding participants through practical breast self-exams after a fun and refreshing stretch!
The room was alive with curiosity, courage, and connection – from survivor stories to important questions on prevention.

The Medicaid Cancer Foundation, in collaboration with the Mothers’ Union and Women’s Guild, hosted a cancer education outreach at Basilica of Grace Church in Gudu. The event focused on breast and cervical cancer awareness, early detection, and self-examination techniques. Of the 58 women in attendance, 48 registered for subsidized screenings, furthering the Foundation’s commitment to accessible cancer care for women.
