The honor recognizes her pioneering contributions to pediatric hematology-oncology and her leadership in advancing precision medicine in cancer care across India and internationally.

Dr. Nita Radhakrishnan: Leading the Way in Pediatric Cancer Care

Dr. Radhakrishnan serves as the Head of the Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Post-Graduate Institute of Child Health (PGICH) in Noida, India. Under her leadership, PGICH has become a center of excellence, especially for children with blood disorders and cancer. She has championed a care model that blends clinical excellence with cutting-edge research, ensuring that even the most vulnerable patients receive the highest standard of treatment.

One of her most impactful initiatives was organizing the first Pediatric Hematology Oncology – Bone Marrow Transplantation – Critical Care CME (Continuing Medical Education) at PGICH in late 2024. The event brought together specialists from various fields to improve multidisciplinary care for pediatric patients. It was a step forward in uniting expertise to tackle some of the most complex medical conditions affecting children.

Making a Global Impact

Beyond her work in India, Dr. Radhakrishnan has played an active role on the global stage. She co-chairs the Partnerships Working Group of the SIOP Global Health initiative—part of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology—where she works to bridge gaps in childhood cancer care across low- and middle-income countries.

She is also the Chair of the International Pediatric Association’s Program Area Working Group on Childhood Cancer, where she advocates for global strategies that ensure every child has access to timely and effective cancer treatment, no matter where they live.
